About the “Siberian Summer” Bicycle Tour

• This bicycle tour is a fundraiser to match a grant from the Welborn Baptist Foundation to construct 10,000 linear feet of bike lanes in Tell City, IN.

• The “Siberian Summer” Tour and Wm Tell Twilight Bicycle Criterium are sponsored by the
Perry County Greenway Initiative and this event is part of the Perry County Wellness 2009 initiative
sponsored by Perry County Memorial Hospital, Home Mutual Insurance and First State Bank.

• The Perry County Greenway Initiative’s goal is to create and promote the use of safe walking and
cycling pathways throughout Perry County, IN.

• The first trail completed is the Windy Creek Trail in Hagedorn Park in Tell City. Plans are currently underway to construct the RiverWalk Trail along the Ohio River, a new sidewalk system and 10,000 linear feet of bike lanes in Tell City, as well as a trail which will encircle William Tell Elementary School in Tell City.

It is our dream to link walking trails, hiking trails in our beautiful Hoosier National Forest, cycling trails
and bike lanes throughout Perry County to enhance our county and encourage exercise and wellness in
our communities.
